As we have been driving around through the vast desert plains of California and Arizona, soaking in the expansiveness of it all, I could not help but know that today's song has to be this masterpiece by U2. They're one of my favorite groups of all time, and this is one of my favorite songs by them, and both the atmosphere created by The Edge's masterful, impeccable guitar paired with Bono's timeless voice seems to perfectly encapture the romantic nature of the wild, beautiful and untameable desserts and red rocks.
